Individual therapy is a one-on-one service in which a person meets with a licensed professional to learn how to identify their feelings, understand their emotions, increase their understanding of thoughts and behaviors to improve their well-being. A treatment plan is developed that outlines the goal for therapy and the therapist utilizes those goals to identify the focus of therapy. In family therapy family members come together with a therapist to learn how to help support each other, function better as a family unit, learn to trust each other, and how to better communicate. A treatment plan is created with the family that outlines the goals they have for family therapy.
