Spring River Mental Health & Wellness, Inc. (SRMHW) of Riverton, KS celebrated completion of the revitalization of their playground using funds received from the Ruth Evans Estate. The playground was named the Ruth and Russel Evans Memorial Playground.

The endowment allowed most of the existing playground to be transformed from dated equipment to modern equipment, which offers a fundamentally, inclusively designed play environment for the children and youth SRMHW serves. Several of Mr. and Mrs. Evans’ family members joined SRMHW employees and Governing Board Members to commemorate the Ruth and Russel Evans Memorial Playground through a ribbon cutting ceremony held on Friday, April 30th in celebration of this generous donation.

Mr. and Mrs. Evans were known for their philanthropy in the local community over the years and even today, their generosity knows no bounds. The couple started Riverton Building Supply in 1969 and it continues today as a family owned business.

SRMHW is sincerely grateful as well as honored to have the opportunity to provide a meaningful and therapeutic play experience to those we serve due to the kindness of Mr. and Mrs. Evans.
