Individual therapy is a one-on-one service in which a person meets with a licensed professional to learn how to identify their feelings, understand their emotions, increase their understanding of thoughts and behaviors to improve their well-being. A treatment plan is developed with the individual that outlines the goal for therapy and the therapist utilizes those goals to identify the focus of therapy. In family therapy family members come together with a therapist to learn how to help support each other, function better as a family unit, learn to trust each other, and how to better communicate. A treatment plan is created with the family that outlines the goals they have for family therapy.
Group Therapy is a treatment option for those that learn well with a group of people that have similar experiences. The therapist asks questions to help members discuss their experiences, provide education about mental health challenges, and interventions that may help group members cope in times of distress. Group therapy is typically a short term group session of 6-12 weeks and focused on special topics such as overcoming depression, managing anxiety, understanding trauma, etc.
Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. has therapy staff with advanced training in the treatment of trauma. These therapy techniques are well researched and have positive outcomes for people who have experienced trauma, such as assault, physical abuse, verbal abuse, or trauma from a natural disaster. These evidenced based practices are called Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
Through Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc.'s Specialized Services for Service Members, Veterans, and Family Members (SMVF) services, an expert skilled and trained in working with active duty, service members, veterans, and their families will work to provide therapy. Care Coordination is also available to assist with navigating available benefits and the VA and military systems. In addition, Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. will act as a liaison between the client and the Veteran Health Administration, and other community providers, including primary care doctors, mental health professionals, and psychiatrists. Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. will provide individualized, trauma-informed, person-centered, and holistic care. SMVF services are provided in the home, community, or at the Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. office.
Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. treatment providers understand that you are an individual and will work with you to create an individualized treatment plan that you help develop, to best meet your goals. Substance use oftentimes begins in an attempt to deal with mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, or past traumas. Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. offers Substance Use Counseling and Mental Health Services to help you deal with both of these issues.
Spring River Mental Health provides many different types of evaluations; including, psychological, court ordered, competency to stand trial, law enforcement employment and DUI evaluations. Adult case management assists individuals and families of individuals, who suffer from a severe and persistent mental disorder to remain in their home and community. A case manager’s role includes assisting the individual by helping remove barriers to recovery, and assisting the individual in obtaining resources and services that are necessary to ensure continued individual growth.
Adult psychosocial rehabilitation group assists individual’s with serious and persistent mental illness to alleviate social isolation, develop supportive relationships, and to learn necessary activities of daily living. Persons are also educated about and practice basic health care, functional leisure activities, and encouraged to practice social skills in a variety of community settings.
Peer Support Specialist is a person that can relate to others from their own experiences and recovery from mental health challenges. Peer Support staff provide support, guidance, and understanding from the viewpoint of one that has similar lived experiences. Their role is to help create a support system that understands what it feels like to experience a major mental illness; to reduce the feeling of being alone and misunderstood, as well as to help you learn to advocate for your own mental health needs. Referral for this service is from your therapist or case manager.
Attendant Care is a one-on-one service for those that meet the criteria, as assessed by a therapist at Spring River Mental Health and Wellness, Inc. This service provides additional mental health supports for either Children/Adolescents or Adults. The service can be provided at school, in the community, or in the home depending on the person’s need.
Individual Placement and Support is a service that helps people with behavioral health conditions find and keep a job of their choosing. Support will be individualized and will continue for as long as needed. The mental health treatment team will also be involved to help in meeting employment goals.
The Assertive Community Treatment program offers treatment, rehabilitation and support services using a person-centered, recovery-based approach to individuals who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.
Clients receive help managing their basic needs, including medication management, and other daily living skills.
